Some of you will get a first hand experience from living in the extremely networked student housing area, KistaIP where there are fiber connections to all rooms, currently used to deliver a 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet to an operator neutral access server. During the workshop, there will also be wireless access points at KistaIP connected to StockholmOpen.Net. The Kista Shopping center KistaGalleria offers a wireless network providing an example of how such a network can be used in a commercial environment. This is left to the participants to explore on their own If you take the time, you could experience other similar environments in downtown Stockholm at Kulturhuset and in Kungsträdgården on your own If there is an interest, we can arrange a visit to Utö, in the archipelago of Stockholm to illustrate how user initiatives can bring an access network to a rural area in which no traditional operator can see any business.
